GOD PROTECTS ME
The sun is sinking in the West,
The sky has beautiful colors there;
No Artist could ever capture it all,
For mankind everywhere, God does care.
As I look into the far horizon,
There still is so much more to see;
There's a lovely view of the Valley below,
The birds are happy, flying free.
God has been with me through this day,
He has kept me safe from all harms;
As the day ends and darkness comes,
I find Peace and Comfort in His Arms.

THE SANDS OF TIME
The heavens and the ocean
At times seem far to me,
But the tide is always moving
Sand from way out in the sea.
God is always sending love
From heaven down to us,
The ocean roars, the sand moves on,
Sunken ships will turn to rust.
We see the sand the tide has moved
To a lonely windswept beach,
But do we see the love of God?
He sent His Son to teach.
While here on earth we can not see
Deep on the ocean's floor,
Where the sands of time keeps moving
But some day will be no more.
But if we keep our eyes on Him
In heaven up above
Accept the sacrifice He made,
He died to show His love.
Then the tide that's always moving
In the ocean's of our lives,
That's pushing at emotions
Moving life sands of our lives.
God holds back the mighty breakers:
We can find the peaceful sea,
Where the sands will last forever
Through out eternity.

BORROWED TIME
Touch my heart, dear Lord I pray
and give me wisdom every day.
Use me, Lord, just as I am,
let me know Your master plan.
I'm just a vessel for Your love,
You give me guidance from above.
All I am, is Yours to mold,
forevermore to have and hold.
The life I live is not my own,
each breath I breathe is a precious loan.
The steps I take are only borrowed,
with all my todays and all my tomorrows.
A mountain of faith, I hold inside,
just to know You as my Lord and guide.
To serve You now, is my request,
for You, dear Lord, I give my Best.

I GET GOD'S GLEANINGS
I've never been rich in silver and gold,
And folding green cash is not mine to hold;
I don't own great acreage of my state's richest sod,
But I do glean in the fields of the people of God.
One thing I have learned --- that God is still good;
He'll take care of you if you'll trust like you should.
Just try to please Him in whatever you do;
No, matter how hopeless, He'll still see you though!
Don't fret, and don't worry, and for riches don't plead,
And He'll leave all the gleanings you ever can need!
He never has failed those who trust in His name,
And down through the years He'll still be the same.
I never do fret over silver or gold,
For the owner of all is my Father I know.
He owns all the cattle on a thousand great hills,
And the earth in its fullness responds to His will!
A calmness and peace keeps my spirit and soul,
For I know that my Lord has a perfect control.
For whatever I'm needing, I don't have to plead;
My God and His people have supplied every need.
Some worry and fume, and grumble and fret,
Toiling for riches with much labor and sweat,
But I trust in my God for the things that I need,
And He always sees that there's gleanings for me!

NO MAGIC IN A MIRACLE
There's no magic in a miracle,
it's planned right from the start...
with God, all things are possible,
as a gift from His own heart.
There's nothing strange about it,
God's power fills the earth...
He can make the mountains move,
He can shake the universe.
God's ways are supernatural,
and can never be ignored...
there's no magic in a miracle;
it's the presence of the Lord.

WHILE WE REST
There's a miracle waiting to unfold
and a song waiting to be sung...
there's a giant step for all mankind,
just waiting for the plunge.
There's a touch of heaven in our midst,
there's a star waiting to be found...
there's a beautiful vision to be seen,
there's life forming all around.
Our Creator works from dusk till dawn,
just to give us the very best...
all the wonders of our world,
are happening while we rest.

THIS GODLY WOMAN
This godly woman is the work of Him,
whose work of art starts within;
as He takes her from the very start,
and writes His words upon her heart.
This godly woman wears her beauty
in a way that I can see;
a kind and gentle spirit within,
as God perfects her with His pen.
This godly woman He doth reward
with a wonderful heritage from the Lord;
two godly children, I do behold,
a polished stone and fine fine gold.
This godly woman doth inspire,
within me, God's creative fire;
to make the things I make for you,
as His Spirit shows me what to do.

THE EYES OF LOVE
ARE IN YOU
The eyes of love cannot be seen
in greed or arrogance...
nor in the heart of jealousy,
or soul of discontent.
The eyes of love are only seen
when Jesus lives inside...
the face of true affection,
is a heart that's purified.
The light of God shines bright in you,
as a witness to His grace...
and I'm so thankful this is true,
because I see it in your face.

THE DROUGHT
The summer was long; the heat was severe;
The hot winds came; the sky remained clear;
The merciless sun made everything dry,
And all of nature seemed ready to cry.
Dust swirled and twisted like spirits in pain;
The farmers and ranchers were feeling the strain,
Looking hopefully skyward for the sign of a cloud,
Whelk blowing sand circled the sheep like a shroud.
Things grew more hopeless as the sun blazed more hot,
While the brassy skies hinted that God had forgot.
Men wondered if He had unleashed His anger,
For it seemed that all life was in imminent danger.
No prayer seemed to reach as high as the ceiling,
And we felt that God's wrath on us could stand,
As the heat devils danced across the barren land.
Then one day in September we heard distant thunder,
And we watched lightening flashing in wide-eyed wonder.
We stared as the storm clouds came thick and fast,
As we wondered if God had graced us at last.
The dry leaves stretched up toward the promise above,
Sensing that the Maker had turned on his love,
And we praised Him afresh with words long unspoken,
For through His great mercy the drought had been broken.
Now He says in His Book that our land is not right;
We're practicing evils he can't have in His sight:
Robbing and killing and abuse of all kinds
Evidence the fact that we're of reprobate minds.
It seems that no conscience exists any more,
And we sense that God's judgment is right at the door.
The sword must be coming, for we are hellbent.
And our only hope of escape is a call to repent.
Why can't we all see we're in a spiritual drought;
That we must get our hearts right if we wish to get out.
If we want this great nation to continue today,
We must learn the great lesson of learning to pray.
We must turn from our evil and take up the good;
We must start to living as all honest men should.
Oh, God, help us learn what life's really about,
And, please, God, put an end to this spiritual drought.

A LETTER TO A CHURCH
I sat alone at the back of the church,
Desperately trying to control my hurt.
Praying that someone would care,
Would sit next to me so I could share.
Then YOU came - my sister and brother.
I sat at one end - you moved to the other.
I saw YOU come, I hoped you'd see.
But you walked straight by
Not a word to me.
Then YOU approached me with a smile,
"Hello, how are you" I heard you say,
But you walked straight by
Before my reply.
Then YOU came and tarried awhile,
But you looked uncomfortable talking with me,
You could not handle my misery.
I started to tell YOU - a cry for help.
You listened for awhile,
But time was short "I'll pray" you said,
And talked to someone else instead.
I stood alone while YOU drank your tea.
Feeling as miserable as could be.
Everyone busy, milling about,
"I'm hurting inside" I wanted to shout,
But I put on a grin - a smile in the making,
Even though my heart was aching.
Then YOU came - you really did care
YOU gave me a hug and a kiss.
YOU said that I was in your prayers.
YOU said I was greatly missed.
I need your love, I need YOU to phone,
I need YOU to pray with me in my home.
Today it is me, and how many others.
It could have been YOU, my sisters and brothers.
